Fertility SupportThe struggle with fertility issues can be a very bumpy road, paved with moments of hopefulness, uncertainty and also sadness and silent grief. It is an incredibly challenging, invisible journey that can be an up and down and all over the place, roller coaster ride.
Having an experienced Therapist/Coach beside you on the journey does make a huge difference! Specialised support beside you as you navigate the journey, someone in your corner who understands the ups and downs of the journey, someone who can support you with the highs and lows and the incredibly complex mix of feelings and decisions. Stress is inevitable on the journey so learning how to navigate the stress and having someone outside your family and friends to talk to and support you, decreases the stress and makes the journey much more manageable. Often times the grief, the financial burden and difficult journey of infertility can trigger past issues or trauma to come up to the surface - so experience, support and understanding around that is very important too. I walked a difficult infertility journey for over a decade and know from the inside how incredibly challenging it can be. My personal journey with infertility included endometriosis, multiple surgeries, natural fertility treatments, failed IVF cycles, miscarriage after IVF treatment, egg donation, surrogacy, embryo donation, adoption and induced lactation. My partner and I began trying to conceive when I was 29 and I finally became a mother in my forties. Infertility is a journey like no other! It can be so hard for people who have not been there to understand the depth of the pain involved and the deep impact it has on everyday life. Good support and understanding on the way does make an enormous difference! I had my own therapist to help deal with the infertility journey - it was a place to process, make difficult decisions, rant, grieve and receive support through out the ups and downs of the journey. I was also involved in the infertility world for many years, organising local support groups then after a number of years on the Executive Committee for Fertility New Zealand, I became Vice President then Co-President. Then I worked as the Executive Director for Fertility New Zealand for a couple of years. Do get in touch in you have any questions at all! I would be happy to support you on your journey with any aspect of fertility issues or infertility including (but not limited to):

A single thread of hope is a very powerful thing.
It's really OK in times of loss if the only thing you can manage today is to breathe. It's the kind of heartache you can feel in your bones. |
